Random Things

A few things have happened recently, and I thought I would share with a delightful photo montage.

As many of you may know, there has been a ton of snow here in NY! It snows here from time to time, so the event in and of itself is not really all that shocking; the noteworthy bit is that the snow actually stuck to the ground, and is still here a week later, though admittedly a touch browner and shabbier than when freshly fallen. Here are a few photos I took out and about (or from my window, from my favorite stalker-esque vantage point) to show you folk not in the northern states what exactly winter means.




Since it was snowy and generally winter-ish this week, I spent a lot of time making Skittles chase things around. After one such search and destroy session with her toys, she lay down amongst her captives (which she'd previously beaten into submission) and took a much needed rest.


Finally, this weekend was Valentine's Day - huzzah! I actually quite enjoy the holiday, but Sunday was just generally a downer of a day. My clothes shrunk in the dryer, I had to play football in the snow, some crazy lady forced me to disembark the train I was taking and I thought I lost my keys. Still, the captain of the football team got all the girls roses because of the holiday and because it was the last game of the season, and that was really nice!


Finally (the second), Jen made some amazing soup and I recreated it tonight - it is so delicious! It is a spicy sausage soup with spinach, beans and onions (and of course sausage). I used chicken sausage, and it came out wonderfully! No picture of that, though. Pictures of food (especially soups) are just not necessary. :-)
